BALTIMORE, Maryland — State Police say a man has died after a crash into the back of a tractor trailer. The man, a local 50-year-old, is mourned by his loved ones.
According to the police, Tuesday’s accident happened at around 6:35 p.m. Therefore, it impeded some of the area’s rush hour traffic. After the incident, officials closed down multiple lanes of traffic as they cleaned up the scene. It took them a few hours to fully clear everything out. After all, incidents that involve death take longer to investigate due to procedural requirements.
Police say Brian Douglas Dulledge, 50, was traveling westbound on MD Rt. 404 near River Rd., in Caroline County, Maryland when his white Hyundai Santa Fe struck the tractor trailer. Dulledge rear-ended the trailer, crunching the front of his vehicle into its rear underride protector.
When the paramedics arrived, they found Dulledge in a very bad way. After extracting him from his vehicle, he was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma. There, the doctors pronounced him deceased due to trauma he suffered in the accident.
Tractor Trailer Crash Only Claims One
The driver of the tractor-trailer was Olanrewaj O. Aijke, 42. According to police, he was not injured in the accident. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, and he braced himself during the collision. On top of that, his truck was in great working condition. All of these measures certainly helped protect Ajike from what could have been a serious injury.
