BALTIMORE, Maryland — Monday night, a 2-year-old child died after being thrown out during a crash in Baltimore, officials said.

 

A driver was traveling eastbound on the Interstate 170 expressway at the Mulberry Street exit at 10:10 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to flip over.

 

Arriving officers found a woman inside the vehicle and an unresponsive toddler, who had been ejected from the vehicle, officials said.

 

The driver said the toddler had unbelted himself during the ride, police said.

 

The victims were taken to a hospital, where the toddler was pronounced dead a short time later, police said. The child has not yet been identified.

 

Crash team investigators are investigating this case and are working to determine the cause.
